This design is called the GD18, it has typically a floor area of about 21.5 sq yards and a diameter of 16 feet, there are also 17', 19' and 21' diameter measurements included.Ideal for use as a greenhouse/potting shed, studio or summerhouse. All measurements and instructions are included as well as options for covering in different materials, like twinwall polycarbonate or glass. No specialist tools are required but a table saw with tilt function is essential for cutting bevels, other than that a drill driver, C claps, stapler and hand saw are all that you will need. Most people with a basic knowledge of construction or woodwork should have no problem building this amazing structure. There are 2 jigs and 105 timber frames in this dome project so a bit of work but everyone says it's worth it!These plans are in Imperial measurements (feet and inches) see my other plan books for the metric version of this design. The plan book includes:All measurements and build instructions. How to rescale to another size, three other sizes included.Tips and tricks while building. How to make doors and windows.Cutting list and how to work them out for other sizes.A gallery of finished dome pictures, for inspiration.A paper template for building a scale model of your dome.Paul Robinson was the first to develop the bevel frame method for building domes (2008) which doesn’t have hubs or complex metalwork, other innovations like jig making and frame covering make building a DIY dome much easier than it used to be. He has been designing and building Geodesic domes for over twenty years and has worked on dome projects all over the world for a very wide range of clients including: Harrods in London, Large tent and marquee manufacturers, Schools, horticultural institutions, private individuals and even TV programs.
